There are currently 4 ways to increase your rank:

1) Post in the forum. Each post is worth 1 point.

2) Make game comments in the game pages. Each game comment is worth a default 1 point, but should others like your comment and vote it up it will be worth more. There is text in each comment which states how much the comment is currently worth. Be aware that negative votes will bring the comment's value down, even to 0, making the comment worthless.

3) Vote for games. For every 4 votes you cast you'll earn 1 point.

4) Recommend quality flash games to me in the Game Suggestion area of the forum. If I use the game in an update, I'll give you 10 points.

zorgon slayer is newer than me but he has a better rank because i come here to play games and rate them so i am enter tained

as long as your entertained, whether it be the forums or the games, we're doin our jobs right.

I can't reward points for playing games as I don't control the game code and therefore can't track scores, if the games even have scores. Technically, there are some games that come with mechanisms to track scores, which I could hook up to the point system. But then that would be unfair to the players that don't play those scored games, and would be prone to major cheating.

Kongregate spends major money building, promoting, and maintaining their ranking system into their games, and by major money I mean hundreds of thousands of dollars. And if you think about it, at the end of the day the ranks really don't mean anything. Even here, the ranks are more for the forum members.

However, I'm always open to new ways of earning points, so if anybody has any ideas, feel free to mention them.

John would kill me if I usurped him as point leader with a random point give-away. He's been posting in the game comments for months to get his points that high.

how am i still right up near to top when i havent been on in 6 months or so?

You REALLY racked up the points with game recommendations, back when Cheddar was new and was missing a lot of the top games. Now with the auto feeds it's become harder for people to recommend anything that isn't already here, so it's harder to climb the point ladder.

Actually, I don't think I can (easily). Back when I modified/hacked-up the forum ranking system, I didn't leave any flexibility for custom ranks. I never thought I'd have a need for them.

So... HI! How's it going? I haven't seen you here in ages.

i'm currently trying my hardest to graduate from high school. im a little behind on credits because i spent my 9th grade year in Scotland. now its come back to haunt me. as if being the oldest senior isnt bad enough. dont got as much time as i wish i did to play some of the good ol' Projects games.

When I was in high school, being the oldest was a plus, but I guess it's different in every community. College/University will be a lot more fun, just don't get too much into debt
